COME AND JOIN US!
INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

Some questions people interested in joining the orchestra might ask, together with some answers.
When do you rehearse?
We rehearse from 7.45 pm to 9.45 pm every Thursday evening during the normal school term-time.
Where do you rehearse?
Rehearsals are held in the comfortable surroundings of Cranmer Methodist Church, Newhampton Road West, Wolverhampton. This is on the north west side of the city, not far from the main A41 road to Tettenhall and North Wales.
What sort of players are you looking for?
String players
As with orchestras like ours, we are always looking for good string players in all sections. So, if you are a violin, viola, cello or double bass player of Associated Board Grade 8 standard or better, we would love to hear from you.
Wind players
We do also from time to time have vacancies in the woodwind and brass sections, where the minimum standard would be post Grade 8 or better with suitable orchestral experience.
What should I do if I want to join?
Please come along to any rehearsal when you will be able to meet the Musical Director with whom you can discuss the possibility of joining. We do not normally audition new members, but instead new members join the Orchestra for trial period to see how they get on. Alternatively you may ring Richard Anderson on 01902 752755, or e-mail us at info@wolsymorc.org.uk
Do I have to pay a subscription?
We do charge an annual subscription which basically finances the running costs of the Orchestra. The current rates, which are reviewed annually, are:

£45
